KATHLEEN FEATHER
Owner/ Forest School Leader
Hi, I'm Kathleen Feather and for my "about me" I need to start with my roots, as it turns out, the woods have been calling me all along.
My childhood was spent playing in the garden, in the woods, and at the seaside. I initially considered a career in childcare, but chose to follow my creativity and attend Art College followed by a BA (Hons) degree in Jewellery, before working as a bespoke fine jewellery designer, and later becoming a self-employed jeweller with collections inspired by the beauty of nature.Â
In early 2019, I began gaining child related qualifications and in 2021 set up a volunteer playgroup to provide a much needed space for local families, once Covid allowed. Within this time, two of my four young children had attended a Forest School setting and I had seen the affects first hand; I started volunteering, then assisting, and by the end of 2022 I was a qualified Forest School Leader.
It finally made sense - my fond childhood memories, my art/jewellery inspirations, my respite through lockdowns, and ways of comforting my children... it all came back to nature!
I started running my own Forest School session once a week within the grounds of a local primary school, alongside leading twice-weekly sessions elsewhere. With the desire to support a wider range of local people, I knew I had to grow further and, thanks to our fabulous Wilderness Forest School site and enthusiastic team, I can now share the benefits of Forest School with all of you!

KIM KINGFISHER
Forest School Leader
Hi, I'm Kim Kingfisher! I live in St Neots with my partner, two daughters, two dogs and two guinea pigs.Â
I love spending time outside with my family, exploring, walking, cycling and growing yummy things to eat at our allotment.Â
I love all things creative: crafts, painting and sewing.Â
I love coming to Forest School and feel very lucky to have a job that is so much fun and makes me feel so happy. I love the craft activities we do, cooking on the fire and learning new knots.

KATE CATERPILLAR
Forest School Assistant / Volunteer
Hello, I'm Kate Caterpillar. I have always loved playing outside, From making mud pies in my back garden when I was very little to spending whole days growing up in little dens under tree canopies. These places are where I feel connected and playful.
Nowadays, I am an artist working with clay and making prints with messy inks. My art is continually inspired by nature and the seasons. I have two small children and a small garden packed with plants grown to encourage wildlife back into our own patch of wilderness.

ALICE FOXTAIL
Forest School Assistant / Volunteer
I believe people can achieve a lot with the right exposures, even when overcoming fears or anxieties, which is why I am to get my two young children doing whatever they have an interest in, whether that's swimming, gymnastics, or rolling around in mud! At Forest School I want to nurture each person with the same enthusiasm I have with my own children, and, most importantly, teach them it's okay to be whatever, weird and wonderful, different and unique, individual person, they want to be; and to be that person, outdoors in the fresh air. In time we find our little (and big) people learn new skills and make lasting friendships. I hope to see you soon - Alice Foxtail.
